Herbalife24 FIT DVD Review Phase 2 Strength weeks 9 to 11

Phase 2-Strength-Disc 1 Spine and Pelvis Strength-my review day 1

I watched the introduction video presented by Bob Forster, Physical Therapist, Performance Specialist and Developer of Herbalife24 FIT.  Bob said in Phase 2 strength we were going to concentrate on the load bearing muscles in the back of our bodies starting with resistance training with rubber tubing and then we would slowly add in more weights. We would be incorporating exercises to increase balance and complex diagonal moves to challenge the body further.  So this phase is all about building our physiques whilst speeding up our metabolisms.  As we get stonger with Phase 2, we will improve our muscle mass and our metabolisms will become more efficient and burn calories ALL day.  Sounds good to me !

Next onto the training part of the disc – Tom Holland the elite endurance athlete and physiologist took us through the stretching exercises explaining that we were going to add more resistance to make the exercises more challenging. Really good stretches !

For the actual exercises you can use ankle weights and dumbbells I didn’t use ankle weights but carried on using dumbbells. But you can do these exercise with no weights if you wish.

We started with the dead bug, which was working the core on the diagonal, then partial sit-ups with rotation, which had us sitting up and moving from side to side and then back to the middle. This exercise was good for the abdominals.

Next came the exercise that I really liked and is good for coordination as well as strength.  On all fours we worked opposite arms and legs. Arms with dumbbells and legs doing a hamstring curl, so working on the shoulder girdle and the hamstrings. I found this quite hard work but enjoyable.

We did what Tom called a bridge with single knee extension, found this easy, then the last exercises were using resistant bands – working our hips in 4 different ways, inside, outside, front to back. When using the resistant bands make sure you attach to something stable.

Good exercise routine, enjoyed doing something different, but that’s what it’s all about, changing the routine every 8 weeks, building on stability, strength and then power.

Nutrition – I am using Formula 1 Sport which is an easily digestible and a nutritious pre -workout meal and Hydrate the low calorie electrolyte drink I’m taking during the workout. I will be taking recovery drinks like Rebuild Endurance or Rebuild Strength depending on whether I am doing a strength or a metabolic workout.

Herbalife24FIT DVD Review Phase 1 Stability Weeks 5 to 7

Phase 1 – Stability weeks 5 -7 using discs 1,2,3 & 4

Throughout weeks 5 – 7 the exercise routines are repeated, but in a good way and I can feel improvements in my posture, my coordination and stability.  I also feel more toned and my clothes seem not as tight.

When I started out I was a bit wobbly in some of the workout positions but now my lower body feels a lot more stable. The lunges and squats have always been ok for me because I’m used to doing these in the gym. 

I know my weakest parts of my body are my shoulders and arms as I’ve never really exercised these (being a marathon runner) but I do feel a bit stronger doing push-ups and planks. 

The low intensity metabolic workout (for fat burning) is very easy to remember and is intended for everyone, of all abilities. Sam says this is a great workout to do with your family, get the kids involved, or husband or  wife.  I totally agree as it’s a fun workout !

End of the each week is two days of rest or a recreational activity, you choose.

Herbalife24 FIT vs P90X Insanity

Here is a very recent review I’ve received, as it says don’t compare Herbalife24 FIT to P90X Insanity !

Sheila from Vermont, USA says” I am almost done with Week 7 and can see a difference already in the shape of my arms, back and tush! However, do not compare this to Insanity, P90X or the like. The concept is very different. Bob Forster is a physical therapist to the professional athlete world, including Kobe and Olympic medalists so it is SLOW, safe and scientifically sound for injury prevention. You may think it’s almost too easy at first but it’s based on his theory of “deconstructing the athlete”- training smaller muscle groups that heavy hitting wgt trainers ignore. Great program for every fitness level!”

Herbalife24FIT DVD Review Phase 1 Stability on Day 2 Metabolic Workout

Phase 1 – Stability – Disc 4 which is a metabolic workout – My review – day 2

Just finished the day 2 metabolic workout and I must say I enjoyed it – it’s very much like low impact aerobics, but the key thing was it was burning fat !  Maybe a bit tame for all you fit people out there but this is only phase 1 and  I know it will get harder as you go though all the 3 phases.

A few stretching exercises at the start of the Herbalife24FIT dvd metabolic workout, then kept up a steady pace going through “fat burning” moves.  Need a solid floor to do your metabolic workout as there is a bit of walking/jogging on the spot, step tapping, knee raising using arms, kicks, footballer player moves,step pushing, push backs and skipping – think that was it !  total workout 30 minutes.

Felt good at the end of it, looking forward to my next Phase 1 Stability dvd – disc 2 – shoulder stabilization.

Herbalife24 FIT DVD Review Phase 1 Stability Week 1

Hi All,

I was lucky enough to be able to get hold of the Herbalife24FIT dvd box set before stock ran out very quickly after launch.  Here is my review so far…..

New stocks of the Herbalife24FIT dvds are now available to buy in the USA only – that’s the very latest information that I have !

When the Herbalife24FIT box set arrived I was pretty impressed with it’s packaging and presentation.  Fitness experts Samantha Clayton,Tom Holland and Robert Forster feature on the cover and when you open up the package you’ll find 13 dvds – 12 workouts and 1 introduction dvd,  a workout schedule, a quickstart guide, a fitness guide and a Herbalife24 sports nutrition product guide. 

The dvd’s should be played in order of phase i.e phase 1 stability, phase 2 strength and phase 3 power (in the box set these run from left to right and not downwards). The dvds are for a 24 week program. 

I found it essential to watch the introduction dvd even though I was eager to get started…. as you get to see how to do the warm up stretches for flexibilty which should be done before and after exercise to prevent injury. Samantha, Tom and Robert are great to watch on this dvd, they work really well together and gave very clear instructions on how to do the warm up and getting into the correct position to feel the benefits of the stretch  – this was good for me as sometimes I get the position wrong !  Also the introduction dvd showed the exercises and moves that are performed in the 3 phases of the workout program.

Samantha explained the benefits of the Herbalife24FIT workout:

Phase 1: is for flexibility and strength, to get you stable and to make you a better fat burner.

Phase 2: works on adding the strength component

Phase 3: takes you towards peak fitness by adding power moves

Phase 1 -Stability Day 1 – Disc 1 is all about Spine and Pelvis Stabilization – My review – day 1

I thought I was pretty fit and flexible as I’m a marathon runner and gym junkie, until I started the exercises – but the thing is after time your body’s connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, fascia gets shorter if you’re not stretching properly. My arms and  legs were bit like jelly after finishing as I was using muscles I wouldn’t normally use. This disc ran for approximately1 hour (just guessing here as didn’t time it) –  I know it was longer than normal as it went through the flexibilty(stretching) exercises again and then 30 minutes workout, followed by recommended Herbalife 24 sports nutrition products. Normal timings for the workout dvds are 30 minutes.

Looking forward to tommorows dvd Phase 1 Stability – Day 2 – Disc 4 is called Metabolic 1, will report back.
